Business Development Manager: expanded metal

As a business development manager you are responsible for establishing business growth for expanded metal within Staco across our Western sales offices, by developing new business opportunities and a network of contacts to attract new clients. Staco requires the business development manager to have at least a bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing or any related field and extensive experience in the field of expanded metal (construction industry), with a successful 10y+ track record of building profitable relationships with industry professionals and key decision makers.

As a BDM You will be responsible and accountable for:

  • Identifying, establishing, and developing relationships with new and existing clients to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identifying and evaluating new markets and partnerships through networking and direct prospecting.
  • Attending industry events to establish relationships with new and existing clients and to stay updated on market conditions and competition.
  • Coordinating with marketing and project management teams and assisting in the sales process.
  • Defining, testing, refining, and implementing strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Overseeing sales and growth within the expanded metal business unit, including the development of sales strategies and the selection of pursuit teams.
  • Negotiating and communicating business issues and complex concepts to different audiences.
  • Keeping the management team informed of ongoing progress on new business development activities.

*area to cover: UK – Benelux

The ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development;
  • Experience in the field of expanded metal;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing or any related field;
  • Based in Benelux;
  • Multi lingual (to cover ENG+DU+BE+NL)
  • Works for all sales offices and accountable to the Sales Director team. Would most likely be line managed by SD in country of their home or biggest area targeted for growth.
  • Willingness to travel within EU and UK
  • Evidence of working to KPIs under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • ERP experience (CRM is also preferable)

What we can offer:

Our sales offices are based in UK and EU and your place is preferably in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany and also partly home office. The remuneration is as follows, Salary DOE, Company car in line with company policies, laptop, mobile phone, pension, and holiday according to what is applicable for the country you are going to work. Staco are a part of the ROTO Group with manufacturing facilities across Europe, as such you will need to have a valid passport.
